Veronica Sandoval serves as a Principal within Genentech's Patient Inclusion and Health Equity team in the Chief Diversity Office (CDO). She brings a rich perspective to health equity and inclusive research efforts through her background in policy, medicine, and Latino heritage.
Having joined Roche-Genentech in 2018 as a Global Medical Collaboration Lead, Veronica contributed to the early clinical development program for autism. Before assuming her current role as Principal in the CDO, Veronica served as a Medical Science Liaison, providing support to the respiratory portfolio. Veronica boasts a diverse skill set encompassing health equity, medical affairs, thought leader development, patient engagement, and external partnerships.
Veronica’s expertise spans various therapeutic areas, including ophthalmology, oncology, multiple sclerosis, immunology, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, women’s health, autism spectrum disorder, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and influenza. Additionally, Veronica brings prior experience as an intellectual property litigation attorney, focusing on complex patent litigation within the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors.
Veronica holds a Ph.D. in neuropharmacology from the University of Utah, a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law, and a B.A. in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Veronica is often described as being loyal to friends and family. She's a novice chef who relishes crafting dishes using whatever ingredients happen to be in the fridge. And she values alone time for recharging.
